So one of my co-workers thought it would be a great idea for us to put money together to rent a car for a week…that way instead of spending money on cabs, waiting on shuttles we can go where ever we wanted and just fill up a tank of gas..
So after comparing prices we ended up at budget in west palm beach… had to wait in line even though there were 2 people at the desk apparently 1 didnt want to serve anyone..So we get up there and thats where we started running into problems…
My co-worker is from la.. in la she can rent a car by putting her banks debit card into the system and pay all the pre authorization fees in cash, and when its over the money not spent goes on the card…it doesn’t work that way in west palm beach..
Because its a debit card, the money has to be on there and you cannot pay anything in cash.. the lady also told her that if she used the card and it declined for any reason she couldn’t use that card for 2 hours.. i read on the sign that also w debit cards they have to run a credit check in which i thought if it came to that… my co-worker had 500 bucks so all she had to do was make a bank deposit and she would have more than enough to take care of all the pre authorization fees of like 400 bucks…
So we went off to the bank…had to wait on a cab, and spent 40bucks on the cab ride back and forth back to budget.. so we get in and figure all the lady had to do was swipe the card and do the credit check and well be done…highly mistaken..
The lady swiped the card then ran the credit check just to say..im sorry you cant rent with us because your credit did not check out…what??!
Um so u said that the 500 in cash she had u couldn’t take because it was in cash…and we took said 500 and deposited it into the bank which means its now on the banks card u have in ur hand..not to mention u also said that u had to run a credit check however, you never said that if the credit check declined that no matter how much money she had she couldn’t rent.. hell lady if u had of just said that at first, you would have saved us an hour and a 40$ cab ride to put the money on the card when we could have made other arrangements or went to another spot if no matter how much money she had the credit check determines everthing…
hell why couldn’t u run the credit check first since u knew she had a debit card again would have saved us some money and and 40$ cab ride…
Gotta love when folks say something but will not tell you everything…
